# FAQ

## What is Botlyz?

Botlyz is an **automated trading software** that lets you deploy and run strategies on the Lighter DEX. You configure your parameters, sign your configuration, and the software executes it mechanically. Botlyz is not a fund manager, not an investment adviser, and never accesses your funds.

## Security and control of funds

### Can Botlyz withdraw my funds?

**No, never.** Botlyz uses only "trade-only" API keys (placing and cancelling orders). These keys grant NO permission to withdraw, transfer, or access funds. Your assets remain 100% on your Lighter account, under your full control.

You are the sole owner of your funds and can withdraw them at any time directly from your Lighter account.

### Who holds my funds?

**You alone.** Botlyz is not a custodian (non-custodial model). Your funds remain on the Lighter DEX, on your personal account, at your own Ethereum address. Botlyz can never access them directly. See [Non-custodial security](/docs/english/securite-non-custodial.md).

### Can I revoke Botlyz's access at any time?

**Yes.** You can revoke your Lighter API key at any time, directly on the Lighter platform, with no penalty and without going through Botlyz. Once the key is revoked, Botlyz can no longer place orders for you.

## Usage and operation

### Do I need to leave my computer on?

**No.** Strategy execution runs server-side. You can close your browser and your computer: the bot keeps executing your orders according to your configuration. You receive notifications via Telegram.

### Can I stop or modify a strategy?

**Yes.** You can pause, restart, or delete a strategy at any time from the "Strategies" tab in the app. If you change the parameters, you must sign your configuration again (EIP-712). See [Signing and transparency](/docs/english/signature-et-transparence.md).

### What happens if a strategy performs poorly?

Botlyz offers **no performance guarantee**. Trading carries a risk of partial or total loss of your capital. Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. Strategies are executed mechanically according to your parameters: they may generate losses.

This is why it is recommended to test each strategy in [backtest](/docs/english/backtest.md) before real deployment, and to set prudent stop-loss thresholds and allocation limits.

### Can I customize a strategy's parameters?

**Yes.** All trading parameters (indicators, periods, thresholds) and risk parameters (leverage, allocation, stop-loss, SL/TP slippage) are visible and editable. You can create variants tailored to your style or your capital. See [Risk parameters](/docs/english/parametres-de-risque.md) and [The Builder](/docs/english/le-builder.md).

### Can I test a strategy before going live?

**Yes.** The Builder includes a backtest function that tests your strategy on historical data. Backtests incorporate the protocol fee (0.10%) and slippage for a more realistic simulation. However, backtests do not guarantee real performance (the market, liquidity, and volatility change). See [Backtest](/docs/english/backtest.md).

## Fees

### What are Botlyz's fees?

The only Botlyz fee is a **protocol fee of 10 bps (0.10%)**, deducted automatically on each order via Lighter's "partner attribution" program, and capped at 10 bps. That's all.

This is a protocol fee, collected and remitted by the platform: it is NOT a Botlyz invoice or commission.

Botlyz takes **no commission on gains**, no subscription, no deduction from your PnL, and no periodic billing. See [Fees](/docs/english/frais.md).

### Are there other fees?

Yes, but they do not come from Botlyz. The Lighter platform applies its own fees (trading fees, funding on perpetual positions), independently of Botlyz. These fees belong to Lighter and apply to any trading activity on the DEX.

### Are there hidden fees?

**No.** The only fee related to Botlyz is the 0.10% protocol fee per order, collected and remitted by the platform. Lighter's own fees (trading, funding) apply separately. Everything is visible in your Lighter history.

## Referral

### How does the referral program work?

A referral program is **under development**. Details will be communicated if it is activated. As of today, no referral program is operational.

## Support and troubleshooting

### How do I get help?

Two channels:

1. **Support form**: in the "Help" tab of the app, fill out the form with your category (Bug or Support), a description, and your email. We will get back to you by email.
2. **Direct support**: contact @botlyz\_manager on Telegram (<https://t.me/botlyz\\_manager>) for quick help.

See also the [Support](/docs/english/support.md) page.

### What should I do if a strategy isn't working?

1. Check that your Lighter API key is correctly configured (trade-only, no withdrawal).
2. Check that your Lighter account has enough available collateral.
3. Review the strategy logs ("Strategies" tab, then "Details").
4. Contact support with a description and your user ID.

### What should I do if I see an error or a bug?

Contact support via the "Help" form (category "Bug") or Telegram, describing:

* When it happened
* What you were doing
* The exact error message
* The logs if available

## Risk warnings

### Trading carries risk. Is there anything I should know?

**Yes.** Before using Botlyz, you must understand:

* **Risk of total loss**: your capital can be entirely lost.
* **No manual intervention**: strategies run automatically, without human supervision from Botlyz.
* **Leverage and liquidation**: high leverage amplifies gains AND losses.
* **Backtests are not indicative**: past results are no guarantee of the future.
* **No advice**: Botlyz is a tool, not an investment recommendation.
* **Unregulated DEX**: Lighter operates on blockchain, outside EU banking regulation.

See [Risk warning](/docs/english/avertissement-risques.md).

### What leverage can I use?

You can configure leverage within the range allowed by the app. The higher the leverage, the higher the risk: high leverage brings the liquidation threshold closer during an adverse move. Choose leverage proportionate to your risk tolerance. See [Risk parameters](/docs/english/parametres-de-risque.md).

### How can I limit my losses?

Use the risk parameters:

* **Stop-loss**: automatically closes the position if the loss reaches a defined threshold.
* **SL/TP slippage**: execution tolerance on stop and take-profit orders.
* **Allocation**: do not commit 100% of your capital to a single strategy.

See [Risk parameters](/docs/english/parametres-de-risque.md).

## Legal provisions

### Is Botlyz a financial adviser?

**No.** Botlyz is a software editor, not an investment firm. Botlyz gives no advice on which strategies to use, how much to invest, or how to trade. Those decisions are yours.

### Am I responsible for losses?

**Yes.** You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and your capital. By using Botlyz, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted the risk warnings and that you operate at your own risk.

The software aims for mechanical execution consistent with your signed configuration, without Botlyz being able to guarantee the absence of bugs, the continuous availability of the service, or any particular outcome. This limitation is consistent with the limitation of liability described in the [Legal notice](/docs/english/mentions-legales.md).

### Where can I find the terms of use?

See the [Legal notice](/docs/english/mentions-legales.md) page of this documentation, or consult the full Terms of Use in your user area.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://botlyz.gitbook.io/docs/english/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
