# Plans and credits

Botlyz clearly separates two things that have nothing to do with each other: on one side, **plans and credits**, which are used only for the **AI assistant** and the **Laboratory**; on the other, **trading fees**, charged on your orders and completely independent of the plans. This page explains the 4 plans, what credits are for, how to buy "à la carte" credits, and why all of this is separate from trading fees.

> **Important**: you can trade without any subscription. Plans and credits only concern the AI and the Laboratory, never the act of deploying or executing a strategy live.

## Two things not to confuse

* **Plans and credits**: they unlock the **AI assistant** (Botlyz Builder AI) and the **Laboratory tools**. This is an optional subscription, monthly or yearly, with a quota of credits granted each month.
* **Trading fees**: a **single integration fee of 0.10% per order**, charged at the protocol level, unrelated to the plans. This fee is described on the [Fees](/docs/english/frais.md) page.

In short: building a strategy, [backtesting](/docs/english/backtest.md) it and deploying it live cost **no credits**. Credits are only consumed when you chat with the AI assistant or run an advanced analysis in the Laboratory.

## The 4 plans

Botlyz offers 4 plans. Each plan gives a **quota of free AI credits each month** and unlocks a set of **Laboratory tools**.

| Plan | Price (monthly) | Free credits / month | Laboratory tools unlocked |
| ------------- | --------------- | -------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Discovery** | Free            | 10                   | Builder, backtest, out-of-sample test (OOS)                             |
| **Trader**    | €29.95          | 240                  | The above + robustness heatmap + walk-forward                           |
| **Quant**     | €59.95          | 800                  | The above + Monte Carlo + robustness scorecard                          |
| **Edge**      | €149.95         | 2,400                | The above + advanced anti-overfit arsenal (CPCV, PBO, Optuna, hold-out) |

A few pointers to get started:

* **Discovery** (free): to build, backtest and deploy a strategy, with a first look at the robustness tools.
* **Trader**: for those who want to check that a strategy "holds up" with the heatmap and walk-forward.
* **Quant**: to optimize methodically, with Monte Carlo and an overall verdict (scorecard).
* **Edge**: the most complete level, with the most advanced anti-overfitting tools.

> **Important**: the Builder, the backtest and live deployment are included in **every plan**, including Discovery. The details of the Laboratory tools are presented on the [The Laboratory](/docs/english/vue-d-ensemble-1.md) page.

## Monthly or yearly

Each paid plan can be paid:

* **monthly**, with no time commitment;
* **yearly**, with a discount of **up to −30%** compared to monthly.

The exact price and the yearly discount in effect are shown in the application, on the **Plans** page.

## What credits are for

Credits are **shared**: the same balance feeds the AI assistant and the Laboratory. They serve two uses.

* **Messages to Botlyz Builder AI**: each message sent to the assistant costs **1 credit**. See [Botlyz Builder AI](/docs/english/botlyz-builder-ai.md).
* **Laboratory analyses**: each analysis consumes a number of credits **in proportion to the computation** (a quick analysis costs little, a heavy one costs more). The cost is **shown before** you launch the analysis.

The **simple backtest stays free**: it consumes no credits, on every plan.

> **Important**: the credits granted by your plan are **reset and re-credited each month**; they do not carry over from one month to the next. Credits **bought à la carte**, however, do not expire (see below).

## "À la carte" credits

If your monthly quota is not enough, you can buy extra credits without changing plans.

* ✅ **Available on every plan**, including Discovery.
* ✅ **From €5**, with a **volume discount** (the more you buy, the cheaper each credit).
* ✅ **Non-expiring**: bought credits stay yours, with no expiry date.
* ✅ **Added on top** of your free monthly credits.
* ✅ **Payment by bank card** (via Stripe).

These bought credits simply add to your balance and are consumed the same way (AI messages and Laboratory analyses).

## What about trading fees?

Trading fees are **completely separate** from plans and credits. They consist of an **integration fee of 0.10% per order**, charged automatically at the protocol level when you trade. It does not depend on any subscription and applies the same way whether you are on Discovery or Edge.

To fully understand this fee (amount, how it is collected, worked example), see the [Fees](/docs/english/frais.md) page.

> **Warning**: trading involves a risk of loss, which can go as far as the total loss of capital. The Laboratory tools are decision aids based on past data, not investment advice. See the [risk warning](/docs/english/avertissement-risques.md).

## Frequently asked questions

**Do I have to pay a subscription to trade?**

No. Trading requires **no subscription**. The Discovery plan (free) already lets you build, backtest and deploy a strategy live. Plans and credits only concern the AI assistant and the Laboratory.

**Do credits expire?**

The credits **granted by your plan** are renewed each month and do not carry over from one month to the next. Credits **bought à la carte do not expire**: they stay yours with no expiry date.

**Can I change plans?**

Yes. You can move to a higher or lower plan from the **Plans** page in the application. A higher plan unlocks more Laboratory tools and a larger credit quota.

**How much does a message to the AI assistant cost?**

**1 credit per message.** Laboratory analyses, on the other hand, cost a variable number of credits depending on the tool, always shown before launch.

**Does the backtest consume credits?**

No. The **simple backtest is free** and unlimited on every plan. Only messages to the AI assistant and advanced Laboratory analyses consume credits.

**Are the 0.10% trading fees part of my plan?**

No. The 0.10% fee per order is **independent of plans and credits**: it is charged at the protocol level during your trades, whatever your plan. See the [Fees](/docs/english/frais.md) page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://botlyz.gitbook.io/docs/english/plans-et-credits.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
