# PnL Card and notifications

This page explains two everyday features: sharing a trade result as an image (the "PnL Card"), and receiving notifications so you can follow your activity without staying in front of the screen.

## Share your results (PnL Card)

The PnL Card is a polished image that sums up the result of a closed trade: the pair, the direction (buy or sell), the leverage used and the result percentage. It is meant for easy sharing, for example with friends or on social networks.

### Where to find the Share button

1. Open the **PnL** page (your trade history).
2. Find a **closed** trade in the list.
3. On that row, click the **Share** button.

The result image is generated automatically from that trade's data.

### The three ways to share

Once the image is generated, you have three options:

* **Save**: download the image to your device to reuse it later.
* **Share**: open your phone's share sheet (the window that offers your apps) and send the image directly wherever you want.
* **Copy**: copy the image and its accompanying text, ready to paste elsewhere.

> **Important**: the text included with the card contains your invitation link. If someone signs up through this link, it ties you to them in the referral program. Only share what you are comfortable making public.

### An important note about results

The PnL Card shows a past result, that of a specific trade. Past performance does not predict future performance. A good result on one trade does not guarantee the results that follow. Share your cards keeping this in mind, and read no promise of gain into them.

## Notifications

Botlyz offers two types of notifications to keep you informed.

### 1. The in-app bell

A **bell** icon is present in the application. It gathers the important events:

* the **opening** and **closing** of your positions;
* **strategy updates**;
* the completion of an **analysis** (for example a finished backtest).

You can check this bell at any time while the app is open. You can also choose which **categories** you want to receive there.

### 2. Real browser notifications (Web Push)

In addition to the bell, Botlyz can send you **real browser notifications**. Their advantage: you receive them **even if the Botlyz tab is closed**, just like any app notification.

To enable them:

1. A **popup** appears and offers to enable them. Click **"Yes, enable"**.
2. Your **browser** then asks for its own permission. Accept it.

✅ Once both steps are validated, browser notifications are active.

### Manage your notifications

You stay in control of what you receive:

* Go to **Settings → Notifications** to **enable or disable** browser notifications.
* In the **bell**, choose the **categories** of events you want to receive.

### On iPhone

> **Important**: on iPhone, browser notifications only work **if the app is added to the home screen**. Open Botlyz in Safari, then use the "Add to Home Screen" option in the share menu. Then launch Botlyz from the icon you created to receive notifications.

## Frequently asked questions

### Why is there no Share button on a trade?

The Share button only appears for **closed** trades. A trade that is still open has no final result, so there is no card to generate.

### Is the invitation link mandatory in the shared text?

The accompanying text includes your invitation link by default. If you would rather not share it, send only the image, or remove the link from the text before publishing it.

### I did not see the popup to enable browser notifications. What can I do?

Go to **Settings → Notifications** to enable them manually. Your browser will then ask for its permission.

### I receive nothing even though I enabled everything.

Check that your browser really allows notifications for Botlyz (the browser's settings, not only the app's). On iPhone, make sure you added the app to the home screen and that you launch it from that icon.

### What is the difference between the bell and browser notifications?

The **bell** is visible in the app while it is open. **Browser notifications** arrive even when the app is closed. Both cover the same events (positions, strategies, analyses).

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://botlyz.gitbook.io/docs/english/pnl-card-et-notifications.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
